The optimal solution for the cells in the body is an isotonic solution. This can be accomplished through a process called 'osmolarity,' which refers to the total concentration of dissolved particles in a liquid.

The osmolarity inside and outside the cells is defined by 3 terms: hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic.

Hypertonic - when the fluid outside of the cells (extracellular fluid) has higher osmolarity (higher concentration of solutes), fluid will move from the cell to the area of higher concentration of solutes.

Hypotonic - when the fluid outside the cells has lower osmolarity (lower concentration of solutes), fluid will go into the cell.

Isotonic   -   when the extracellular and cell fluids have the same osmolarity there is no fluid movement either way, the cellular environment is balanced.

Although certain sports drinks may absorb slightly better than water, reports indicate different levels of gut discomfort. Studies have also shown drinks that lower osmolarity, such as Max Hydration, create a stronger osmotic pressure, forcing water into cells more rapidly. Thus, being more gentle on the stomach, and efficiently achieving a balanced cellular environment.

In addition to its lower osmolarity formula, Max Hydration has an enhanced electrolyte/trace mineral content, designed to replace what’s lost in sweat and prevent hyponatremia, a dangerous drop in blood sodium levels that can occur when athletes and workers, exposed to high heat and humid conditions, drink excessive amounts of water.

BETA-ALANINE SUPPLEMENT

Beta-alanine is a popular supplement among athletes and fitness enthusiasts that has demonstrated the ability to enhance performance, as well as providing all-around benefit to health. For less active people, beta- alanine can help increase muscle endurance.

Beta-alanine is a non-essential amino acid. The body uses it to produce carnosine, which helps regulate pH level in the muscle. Carnosine helps prevent damage caused by too much sugar in the body, and reduces lactic acid accumulation in your muscles during exercise - buffers the body from acidosis. Beta alanine not only contributes to improved athletic performance, reduced fatigue, it also assists heavily in recovery. Supplementing with beta-alanine  helps improve exercise performance, and helps improve muscle function for everyone.
