How It Works

Replacement of fluids (rehydration), depends greatly on the osmolality of a liquid. The lower the osmolality of a fluid, the quicker the absorption rate. In addition, electrolyte replacement is imperative to the restoration of chemical balance. If you ingest a fluid of osmolility of less than 250 osm/kg (weight of blood in that area) the water will rapidly undergo gastric emptying and uptake immediately into the bloodstream and tissues. Max Hydration incorporates the science of quick hydration thru low osmolality and a blend of essential electrolytes. In addition to electrolyte replacement and low osmolality, our unique blend of ingredients provides antioxidant support during exercise to help protect cells from free radicals. Also, Max Hydration provides a balanced mixture of carbohydrates (fast and slow acting) and B vitamins to sustain energy during physical exertion. Max Hydration provides a supreme impact with sports teams, petro chemical industries, oil field operations, medical emergency personnel and areas where dehydration is a factor.

The physiology behind how it works:
Low Osmolality & Electrolyte replacement. Osmolality is simply a measure of solid particles in a liquid. Water will always move from areas of low osmolality in an attempt to spread out the additional particles. If you ingest a fluid with osmolality of less than 250mOsm/kg., the water will rapidly undergo gastric emptying and uptake into the blood stream. If the fluid has an osmolality of greater than 250mOsm/kg., gastric emptying is delayed and water will sit in the gut. This can sometimes cause the bloated feeling and gastrointestinal discomfort that is common with most sport drinks and soft drinks.

Being dehydrated by as little as 3% will cause a 12% loss in strength and productivity!
